AIP Fighting Owls

We have started practicing for the 2011 Micro Owls season!!! It´s not to late to show up. Practices run from Monday to Wednesday form 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Participants must be between 7, 8, and 9 years old and weigh less than 90 pounds.

Alberto Garcia de Paredes was part of the sub 17 National Basketball Team that traveled to Puerto Rico. He was the second highest scorer on the team. Congratulations!

Sub 16 boys and sub 18 girls both earned their first win on the first game of the tournament!

Sub 16 boys will face a tough opponent for their second game, Episcopal San Cristobal, next Saturday August 20th. In preparation for the game, they will play a friendly match vs Balboa Academy.

Sub 18 girls faced Enrico Fermi (5 time national champions), for their second match, and gave them a great fight but fell short. Next up for them is La Hebrea on Thursday August 18th.

We have begun preparing for the ADECOP Basketball season. Over 30 girls showed up for our sub 14 girls tryouts!! We have selected the sub 10 and sub 12 girls teams as well. Names will be posted soon to make it oficial.

We will be having Sub 14 boys tryouts on Tuesday July 12th and Wednesday July 13th form 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The sub 16 boys will be having practices all next week, starting at 9:45 a.m.

I want to congratulate the sub 10 and sub 12 boys for finishing the season unbeaten!!! Sub 10 beat La Salle in the finals. Special mention to Agusto Simmons who was the MVP. Sub 12 beat Einstein in the finals. Speacial mention to Alejandro Marquez who was the MVP. It´s a great way to start out the basketball season. Next up is ADECOP!! Keep up the excelente work boys!!

Sub 14 boys finished in 2nd place. I am extremely proud of the way the finish the season. They lost a tough final to a very tough team who had beaten teams by an average of 25 points. We made it tough on them, losing only by 7. Oscar Gonzalez was awarded the sportsmanship award.

I want to congratulate the Mini Owls for the win last night! They played their hearts out and came out with the last second victory! Keep up the good work!!!

Come cheer the Sub 14 and Sub 18 girls to victory!

Sub 14 girls will be playing in the finals Thursday May 26th at AIP vs Brader starting at 3:00 p.m.

Sub 18 girls will be playing the finals as well Thursday May 26th at Estadio “Cascarita” also known as Rommelin at 6:00 p.m.

Sub 10 boys Kiwanis Basketball team will be having a practice this Saturday May 14th @ 9:00 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. as well as Monday May 16th and Tuesaday May 17th both starting @ 2:15 till 4:00 p.m.
